CD Review: Harry Connick Jr.'s Oh, My Nola
2/1/2007
“Nola” isn’t some chick that Harry Connick Jr.’s all up in arms about; rather, it’s Southern slang for New Orleans (which, in the south, is pronounced “N’awlins” locally and “New Orlins” regionally, FYI). Oh, My Nola, an album he named after The Big Easy, rolls fresh off the presses to please those contemporary jazz fans who clamor for more of Connick’s upbeat and easily accessible tunes

Harry Connick Jr.: Oh, My Nola and Chanson du Vieux Carre 1/30/2007
When Hurricane Katrina struck, Harry Connick, Jr. rushed to his hometown days before the National Guard arrived, traveling around the flood-ravaged city to aid the victims and appeal for help on national TV. Connick puts these heartbreaking memories of dead bodies and neglected people to verse in his original song, "All These People," a duet with gospel singer Kim Burrell, that provides a deeply personal centerpiece to his new vocal album, "Oh, My NOLA" (Columbia).

'Game' Face 2/27/2006 Harry Connick leaps into his Broadway debut!

No Nodding Off at Lively 'Pajama Game' 2/24/2006 A delightful new rendition of "The Pajama Game" sure ain't exactly what you remember, but the results still deal out plenty of fun.

Dresses Are Fine, but Pajamas Are Divine 2/24/2006 "Tell me!" Seen in cold print, these may not look like two of the sexiest words in the English language. But as spoken, shouted and sung by Harry Connick Jr. and Kelli O'Hara, that simple little phrase transforms the private pleasures of pillow talk into a heady public celebration.

Broadway's 'Pajama Game' jumps with joy 2/24/2006 At last, pure escapist fun has come back to Broadway.

Connick, O'Hara Sparkle in ''Pajama Game'' Revival 2/24/2006 Unlike pajamas, the musical 'The Pajama Game' is all tops.

New Pajama Game Sizzles 2/23/2006 Who knew there was so much sex appeal in a piece of musical theater that passed the half-century mark two years ago?

Pajama Revival is the Cat's Meow 2/23/2006 The Roundabout's revival demonstrates that superb staging, canny casting and a healthy dose of sexuality are all that is needed to bring this old-fashioned chestnut back to life.

The Pajama Game 2/23/2006 The best news about Kathleen Marshall's eager, puppyish new revival of the 1954 musical "The Pajama Game" is that the old-fangled machinery of Broadway musicals still purrs along just fine.

Connick's charm and style are a winning combination
4/27/2007
It's strange to think that, at 39, Harry Connick Jr. is practically an elder statesman of what he does. Twenty years ago, he was a dashing, baby-face upstart with charm to spare and a warm croon that helped to christen him the second coming of Frank Sinatra.
