American Idol’s Harry Connick, Jr. to Perform National Anthem at Game 5 of the World Series HALL OF FAMER OZZIE SMITH TO THROW GAME FIVE’S CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH MLB and Chevrolet will Have a Special In-Game Moment to Commemorate Chevrolet’s Commitment to Promoting Youth Baseball Hall of Famer and Cardinals Legend Ozzie Smith will throw the ceremonial first pitch of Game Five of the 2013 World Series as part of a pre-game ceremony that also includes American Idol’s Harry Connick, Jr. singing the National Anthem. Additionally, MLB and Chevrolet will have a special in-game moment to commemorate Chevrolet’s commitment to promoting youth baseball. Game Five airs on Monday, October 28th at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX. NATIONAL ANTHEM & GOD BLESS AMERICA: Harry Connick Jr., the newest judge on FOX’s American Idol, is a three-time Grammy Award winner, two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner, and a multiple-Tony Award nominee. Connick has sold 28 million albums and released two albums in 2013 titled "Every Man Should Know” and “Smokey Mary.” [GOD BLESS AMERICA] CHEVROLET IN-GAME MOMENT: MLB and Chevrolet, the official vehicle of Major League Baseball, will have a special in-game moment with fans at Busch Stadium to commemorate Chevrolet’s commitment to promoting youth baseball. Leading into the top of the 2nd, fans in attendance for Game Five will be prompted by Ozzie Smith to flip placards over their heads, which will unveil an aerial image of the words “Silverado Strong” with the Chevrolet and MLB silhouetted batter logos on either side. The moment will be captured by FOX. Chevrolet has expanded its support of Baseball to youth baseball in communities across the country through the Chevrolet Youth Baseball (CYB) program. Now in its eighth year, CYB has helped raise approximately $13 million to aid local youth teams, and annually provide nearly three million kids with the chance to play, learn and grow through skills clinics, equipment donations, field renovations and academic scholarships. Now in its fourth year, the Chevrolet Diamonds & Dreams program has awarded 45 youth field makeovers across the country, including 12 in 2013. The MVP of the 2013 World Series will receive a youth baseball field makeover in his Club’s hometown and a 2014 Silverado High Country. FIRST-BALL DELIVERY: Eric Davis, Jr., 16, will deliver the first-ball to the mound with Cardinals Legend and member of the 2006 World Series Champion Cardinals Jim Edmonds. Davis, who is a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis – Herbert Hoover Club, is a junior at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School in St. Louis.
