TAMPA, FLORIDA – (April 23, 2019) – Katherine Heigl, Harry Connick Jr., and Madison Iseman have signed on to the psychological thriller, I SAW A MAN WITH YELLOW EYES. Written and directed by Castille Landon, the film will start shooting this week in Tampa and St. Petersburg.
A teenage girl with schizophrenia struggles with vivid and terrifying hallucinations as she begins to suspect her neighbor has kidnapped a child. Her parents try desperately to help her live a normal life, without exposing their own tragic secrets, and the only person who believes her is Caleb - a boy she isn’t even sure exists.
“I was truly taken by the heartbreaking story of I Saw A Man With Yellow Eyes. Castille Landon has written a tremendous script and has proven to be a fabulous director, tirelessly searching for the most truthful and artful ways to tell this tale of mental illness. Castille and the incredible cast and crew have gone all-in to make the often-misunderstood world of schizophrenia a bit more familiar. It's an honor to be a part of such a noble and artistic film,” said Harry Connick Jr.
Added Heigl, “When this unique and thought-provoking project came my way I knew it was a story I desperately wanted to be a part of telling. Not only am I proud to be collaborating with a talented female director, a beautiful and talented young actress, and one of my all-time favorite male leads, but I get to be a part of telling a story that touches on themes I believe to be incredibly relevant and meaningful like mental illness, tragedy, grief, unconditional love and hope. I am honored and privileged to be a part of this film.”
“Having this phenomenal cast and crew come together to bring to the screen a film that is simultaneously entertaining and thought provoking, with the aim of opening a much needed dialogue about mental health, is a dream come true for me as a director and writer,” said Castille Landon.
Heigl is best known for her starring roles in the feature films “The Ugly Truth,” “27 Dresses” and “Knocked Up,” as well as her work on ABC’s critically acclaimed drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Heigl recently filmed the multi-cam comedy pilot “Our House”, in which she starred and Executive Produced along side Nicholas Stoller and Brendan O’Brien, for Sony Pictures TV and CBS. She currently can be seen in the USA hit series “Suits”, which will begin production on its final season this summer.
Harry Connick Jr. has appeared in 19 films including Dolphin Tale with Morgan Freeman, Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock, P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank, Bug with Ashley Judd, and Copycat with Sigourney Weaver, and on television (American Idol, Will & Grace, South Pacific and his Emmy Award winning concert specials). In the fall of 2016, he launched Harry, a national daytime television show, which earned 11 Daytime Emmy nominations. On Broadway, Connick received Tony nominations as both a lead actor (The Pajama Game) and as a composer/lyricist (Thou Shalt Not.)
Madison Iseman landed the highly coveted role of Rain Burroughs in I Saw a Man with Yellow Eyes, around whom the film revolves. Madison is coming off of an amazing run with starring roles in 3 separate back-to-back franchises: Sony Picture’s “Jumanji” and “Goosebumps” series, as well as New Line’s “Annabelle” series. In I Saw a Man with Yellow Eyes, she tackles a challenging role that will showcase her exquisite depth and talent far beyond her years.
Castille Landon recently received her Masters in Creative Writing from Oxford, after graduating with Honors from Harvard University. By the age of 25, Landon was directing Academy Award nominated actors, having written, directed and sold her first two feature films for worldwide distribution with Sony and Netflix. In 2018, she sold her television comedy series Workers’ Comp to Media Rights Capital (House of Cards, Ozark).
The film is being produced by Dori Rath; Joseph Restaino and Robert Molloy at Pinstripe Productions and Joe Riley at Zero Gravity Management. The film is shooting in partnership with Film Tampa Bay and the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Commissions.
